Starianna is a controversial OWOT user. In late January 2024, she spammed OWOT's chats with bots counting numbers. One of her alts, Sabrina, was uncovered on January 29, 2024 and swiftly banned by FP.

Counting bot

Starianna's number spam

On January 20, 2024, a counting bot began to spam the root world's chat with numbers. FP swiftly muted the bot. It returned two hours later, being unnoticed for slightly longer but still being muted. Afterwards, the bot began to send the name "Starianna" before starting its counting.

On January 22, FP expressed concern that someone was spamming JavaScript links, which when clicked, would run code in the user's browser, such as Starianna's counting bot, after having muted the fourth bot that day. Tomorrow FP would mute the bot for the longest time possible, hoping it would stop. More bots had to be muted as the spam counting continued.

On January 24, FP stated he would work to address the phenomenon, believing that the bots were not run in the browser, but from numerous non-proxy residential IP addresses. The WOTD at the time, /name_tree, became the target of Starianna's counting. FP attempted to reach out to Starianna on January 25, but only received automated counting in response. Starianna continued to change her IP address to a fresh non-proxy legitimate-looking one every time she was muted.

d9eoead complained to FP that he was repeatedly hitting ratelimits despite not spamming. FP replied that it was possible he was actively running a chatbot. FP speculated on the possibility that Starianna was using a Glitch or REPL project to run the bot when users visited it, providing the bot legitimate IP addresses. Additionally, he mentioned possibly using CSP to block other sites from connecting to OWOT, which could prove valuable in the war on Starianna.

Starianna, in response to filters muting based on keywords, began changing the phrases she would spam, as observed by FP on January 28..

Uncovering of Sabrina as an alt

At 12:09 UTC on January 28, 2024, twinnie discovered [Sabrina's YouTube channel, with the display name "Starianna". lime.owot posted a link to the Discord server three minutes later, with no reactions. Sabrina was present in the server before Starianna's acts, interacting with Lemuria in early November 2023 peacefully, though Sabrina, as Starianna, would only start spamming on January 20.

At 12:57 UTC, Sabrina admitted to running the spambot, saying "Yeah I just kept this a secret for a week lol". #trash promptly became more active as people rushed in to mock and harass Sabrina, until FP woke up. She left the OWOT server, but after OWOT Today and Goatway Remake preemptively banned her from their servers, the WOTD server following suit, she rejoined the OWOT server.

Sabrina began to spam-ping everyone. One of the members then sent Sabrina a death threat, making her significantly more hostile. She devolved into homophobic and racial slurs, and made an alt account to evade the impending ban. At around 16:00 UTC, FP logged on. AndreiXYZ promptly messaged FP to discuss the situation, providing information and evidence to support Sabrina's ban, At 16:09 UTC, FP spoke to Sabrina, before banning him.

After the ban

In the wake of the ban, efforts began across OWOT to clean up the counting bots. By early February they were beginning to subside. The "Starianna News Organization" published a series of headlines regarding Starianna at the main world on February 10, 2024.

On February 2, OWOT Today posted an article about Starianna in the Discord.

As of February, Starianna remains active on her YouTube channel.

On February 10, Lemuria updated the article on Starianna to lengthen it. Lemuria, as the "Starianna News Organization", published a series of headlines before establishing /sabrinanews, where he interviewed an anonymous person, who said that Starianna was an alt of another person named "laden", a long-time user of OWOT, YWOT, and part of the Man-Hating Zone (MHZ).
