Catalogue notable OWOT cities(and towns) here. You may link to the city's coordinates if it is protected(either by an admin or by manually backing it up.) But if your city does end up being griefed, then you can usually request FP to perform a rollback at the designated location. FP is most easily reached in the OWOT Discord.

Mainpage cities

There are only a few cities on OWOT's Mainpage, but most of them are notable in some way and have weathered multiple years of spam.

Opubridge

"Opubridge" was formerly the name of the city at X:1000 in Your World of Text. It was later moved to OWOT at the same coordinates.

Luck Town

Located at Y:777.

Luck Town was founded around 2018 by Albex8 and a couple of other users.

Pika City

Located at Y:100, founded by Tap20 in 2020.

The original core of the city was pasted from Y:100 in Your World of Text, though countless OWOT users have made original art around it over the years.

Polonez was responsible for a section of the city named Plotsville.

It is currently the most popular city and has survived numerous griefs.

Carthage

"The original Carthage city in its fullest form is now available for viewing:

This is an impressive project that took place on the front page from late February 2021 all the way to June 2021.
There has not been a single point in time where the city was fully intact - the above world is a composite of all the times each part of the city was at its best.
The city has been destroyed numerous times and restored thanks to the help of a few people via scripts."

A replica of the ancient city of Carthage by Tabnit. During 2021, the city would be pasted onto Spawn in uncompleted pieces. It would sometimes be reinforced using scripts, causing some users to see it as spam.

On July 3rd, 2022, FP assembled all existing pieces of Carthage and archived the wip city at /fp/carthage.

Carthage remains unfinished to this day.

Gemline Township

A city that was located northeast of Spawn around 2022. No backups or screenshots of it are known to exist, but multiple anons have spoken fondly of it.

Uppsampi

Created by Polonez on April 20th, 2024.

It is located at Y: 415.

Bulwarów Styczny

A town located right above Spawn, created using Symbols for Legacy Computing by Polonez.

It is one of the only permanent fixtures at Spawn, having been griefed and restored countless times since its creation in ??????.

Cities in /main

Cities from on /main, the official OWOT art world.

Numberopolis

Located at X: 500 Y: 0.

The city was first seen on July 16th, 2024.

Spam City

Located at X: -1000 Y: 0 on /main.

The city was first seen on July 22nd, 2023.

Speed of Light City

One of the largest city in all of OWOT.

Speed of Light City is located at X: 299792458, Y: 299792458 on /main, in reference to the actual speed of light.

The city was created almost entirely by JRT using Symbols for Legacy Computing.

SoL City was founded on September 11th, 2024 and is still working on it to this day.

Most users prefer to build cities in the (relative) safety of OWOT's many worlds, with many worlds being dedicated specifically to city-building.

ASCII artists in /mhz have created numerous small-scale cities and towns, all of which feature exceptionally beautiful architecture(in contrast to the profane content found in other parts of the page.)
