The name “Catmint” was originally chosen as a sound-alike or phonetic variation of “Yagton,” first used by Fern. After she changed her username to Fern, the name was passed down to aka, and eventually to other users as well. The earliest known use of the name dates back to June 4, 2024. It is also jokingly referred to as “The Catmint Curse.”
