Catha'Vi, formerly known as MothCultLeader or their current Discord handle ter8, is an Our World of Text (OWOT) user who joined in early 2024. They are the host of the Weird Creature System, one of the oldest endogenic plural systems in the OWOT community. Their OC, Catha'Vi is a moth–deer hybrid creature with a deer skull head and anthro moth/deer body. Originally separate, Catha'Vi now identifies with this character, and has expressed a desire to live as the OC. This desire has been criticized by some users such as d9eoead and ztunedd.

Catha'Vi is a scripter. In their early days on OWOT, they created roomba scripts which moved around the canvasses of both OWOT and YWOT. These roombas were criticized by both sites, and on one occasion, FP ordered Catha'Vi to shut down the script. Catha'Vi has also created a movie night world, a text bridge between OWOT and YWOT, and a visualization of a 1,000-tile radius around the main page. Catha'Vi also has an interest in AI and machine learning. One of their projects in this field is TatGPT, a large language model (LLM) trained on Tatejo's message history.

When Catha'Vi joined OWOT, they based their personality around Catha'Vi and the Moth Cult Discord server, which they advertised in the OWOT Discord server. This annoyed multiple users in the server. Catha'Vi began ragebaiting people intentionally, but has since stopped. Catha'Vi later shut down the Moth Cult server due to not wanting the responsibility of managing a community.

On November 16, 2025, Ceres became the new host of the Weird Creature System on a trial-run basis. The ter8 Discord account's nickname was updated to Ceres shortly after.

History

Tulpamancy

Around July 2024, Catha'Vi would spam/interrupt chat as an anon with the nickname "tulpamancy" spamming nonsensical messages. This was done purely out of boredom, and nothing said should be taken seriously. However, multiple others have impersonated this character, and it should be noted Catha'Vi hasn't been the tulpamancy anon since the first time.

Roombas

Catha'vi's roomba on YWOT(Sped up 30x)

In their early days on the site, Catha'Vi was known for creating ASCII roombas which would move around the canvas and delete everything in their paths.

These roombas were initially deployed on Your World of Text, where they were seen as a nuisance by much of the site's users. Catha'vi's roombas were inspired by an earlier script from YWOT which was also abhorred by the userbase.

The roombas suffered a similar level of backlash when they were eventually ported over to OWOT. On one instance, FP himself ordered Catha'vi to shut down their script, complaining that they needlessly erased text and left ugly patterns all over Spawn.

/movienight

/movienight was a world which hosted scheduled broadcasts of various movies.

It played films at ~5 fps using a grid of 80x25 characters. Graphics were initially rendered using colored full blocks(█), but later updated to a combination of half blocks(▀, ▄) and cell background colors for double the resolution. Subtitles were included to make up for a lack of sound, though they were often out of sync with the scenes.

/movienight hosted several screenings throughout 2024, featuring movies such as:

• Shrek
• The Mario Movie
• The Minecraft Movie
• etc.

While the world was active, a voting system existed but was purely cosmetic. There was also a Discord server dedicated to the page.

/movienight shut down in August of 2024, but Catha'vi hinted one year later that the world might return sometime soon.

On August 18th, 2025, Catha'vi created a sequel to /movienight which rendered footage using octant characters. This newer world animated on a smaller grid(40x12 characters) in order to improve the frame rate(and also because octants allowed for higher resolutions to be achieved using fewer characters).

OWOT-YWOT Bridge

In August of 2024, Catha'Vi (then Moth Cult Leader) launched a script that synced edits between YWOT and OWOT within a small portal. They later created another bridge that allowed YWOT users to interact with OWOT's Global Chat.

Unlike the Warpserver and Fastclient, which were used to spam YWOT without the community's knowledge, Catha'Vi's OWOT-YWOT bridge was able to create an open, two-way interaction between the two text canvases. Reception to the portals were generally positive on both websites, though there was some backlash from the YWOT community over the insertion of OWOT chat into YWOT.

The creation of the OWOT-YWOT Bridge was commemorated by Lemuria in the September 7th Issue of Our World of News. FP also complimented Catha'Vi for their creation, citing it as an improvement over their previous script: the roomba. Mr.Guy commented on the bridge and compared it to the New York-Dublin Portal.

On February 28th, 2025, Catha'vi used a python script to form a 2000x2000 tile(roughly 250x250 in coordinates) map of the Mainpage, where each tile is represented by a pixel.

Catha'vi

On April 5th, 2024, Catha'Vi realized that their Discord server needed a deity to worship. To this end, they created the Moth God Catha'Vi by photoshopping a deer's skull onto a moth's body.

Catha'Vi then created a detailed render of the moth deity with orange fur and four arms. This design has since been used in multiple animations and was the subject of many pieces of fan art by the Moth Cult Discord.

Catha'Vi shows great pride in their OC and frequently advertises it on the Our World of Text Discord server.

Catha'Vi Suit

In July 2024, Catha'Vi revealed that they have been working on an IRL costume of Catha'Vi (the OC).

As of October progress has only been made on the moth god's skull, which was modeled on Blender and printed out piece by piece using a local 3D printer.

The rest of Catha'Vi's body will be made entirely from brown fabric, though Catha'Vi once humored the idea of a functioning mechanical tail.

Only the skull mask was planned to be made, the rest of the suit was a lie (lol).

Catha'Vi Game

As of October 12th, 2024, Moth Cult Leader has been working on a game named Super Catha'Vi World.

Reputation Within the Community

Much of the community was initially unnerved by Catha'Vi's moth obsession and would frequently :wastebasket: react their messages. Likewise, Catha'Vi's deployment of roombas into OWOT was met with just as much backlash as it did in YWOT, with FP himself calling the script out for being annoying.

But in introducing a series of more beneficial scripts, and by improving their art, Catha'Vi was able to gradually gain the approval of the userbase.

As of 2025 they have become a respected member of the community, and multiple users even supported their bid for admin.

However some users are still distrustful of their moth-related antics.
