Lemuria feels extreme disdain towards Port Elizabeth's name change to Gqeberha, believing that "Elizabeth" is a "beautiful name" that must be preserved on the map. D9eoead and other users have argued that the name "Port Elizabeth" was a remnant of imperialism and apartheid that should rightly be erased. But Lemuria disagrees with this, believing the name change to be a completely pointless and ineffective measure. He adds that most locals have continued to call the city "Port Elizabeth" and have even signed petitions to restore it to its original name, though this seems to have mostly been from the white community in Gqeberha.

At the end of the day Lemuria reminds the community that he is only invested in the Gqeberha/Port Elizabeth drama as a result of his love for female names. He stated that he has no objection to other, similarly motivated name changes in South Africa.
