Lemuria's affinity for cats, while predating OWOT, was significantly strengthened by the cat culture on OWOT, and [[Fern]]'s influence. During the vacation, Lemuria met a cat at his local convenience store, who he later named Julie Mao. This name was inspired by an employee jokingly naming the cat "Julie the Second" after herself, and Lemuria later added the name "Mao" due to its phonetic similarity to "meow" and due to a TV show he watched during the vacation. | |||
