Sammich , also known as the_sandwich, is a YWOT veteran, former symbolic OWOT admin, and the creator of the chatroom Wokecat.
On YWOT, he is most remembered for having used a script to write "sammich was here" on all four-lettered worlds.[1]
One of OWOT's original users, he was made an admin by FP, but was rarely active on OWOT. In May 2025, when Fern initiated proceedings against Tatejo for his racism, and later banned him from the server for one year, Sammich came to Tatejo's defense. During this, he used multiple slurs. This so far, has been Sammich's only activity in the OWOT Discord server.
On OWOT
Sammich created his own OWOT beta following the closure of Andrew Badr's original OWOT in 2015. Sammich's beta was part of a chain of attempted OWOT revivals, succeeding JerryStarField's beta and preceding the current site by FP.
Sammich would later be brought on as a developer for FP's OWOT, but for some reason he couldn't be added to the repository. However he was still made a moderator on the site and an admin on the Discord, and would keep these roles until 2025.

Sammich was the least active staff member by a long stretch. He barely used OWOT at all, having only visiting chat on two occasions, and only sending 15 messages on Discord before 2025.
Discord drama
On May 22nd, 2025, Sammich and AJLStick took to the Discord in order to protest the ban of fellow Wokecat user Tatejo, who was under fire for a variety of racist statements(and for potentially scheming to take down OWOT). They saw the suppression of racist jokes as a form of censorship, with Sammich lamenting that OWOT has lost the "cool and edgy and punk rock vibes" that it ought to have as a non mainstream site, and that it used to have before FP and Fern started implementing stricter moderation.
Sammich made a series of incendiary remarks on that day, dropping several racial slurs and purposefully misgendering Fern, a trans admin on the Discord. He took the whole situation lightheartedly and reminded everyone that he was simply ragebaiting.
FP would quietly remove Sammich's admin status shortly after, with Sammich himself leaving the Discord of his own accord.
However he still retained moderator status on his OWOT account "the_sandwich," and would continue to have it until FP formally demoted him on August 25th, 2025. It is likely that FP simply forgot about this account and did not bother to demote it until "the_sandwich" randomly appeared in chat.
Wokecat
He created the site wokecat.com, on which he is present constantly due to having no other responsibilities to take care of. He is hated by many, and is somewhat toxic or edgy.
Wokecat is known for an edgy atmosphere similar to OWOT's chat. Moderation is lax and Sammich has stated that he only bans people for spamming.

Wokecat is inhabited in large part by YWOT users, including figures such as Mr.Guy(Nihilum), JA and Kevin who have been around since the early 2010s.
The idea for Wokecat originated from an YWOT IRC named /~ycentral, which was created in 201? as a way to connect prominent community members outside of the canvas.
Wokecat has a main channel along with several smaller rooms. It enables users to upload gifs, and to customize the color, size and font of their usernames/messages. Certain words are automatically replaced whenever they are sent in chat(Ex. "discord" --> "dicksword," "sammich" --> "1984").

Sammich's YWOT userpage is /~the_sandwich/the_sandwich. It used to be named "/the_sandwich," though it was moved to a subpage of /~the_sandwich after a 2013 update which made it so that users created worlds under the "/~[username]" format, rather than claiming regular worlds like in OWOT. Sammich's world contains a list of interesting worlds, scripts and users from early 2010s YWOT.
