'''Rscr''', also known as '''Credrscr''' on [[Your World of Text]], is a user who became active on OWOT in 2024. Prior to this he was one of the most active users in YWOT's dwindling userbase.

His activities within the community include creating [[Art|ASCII Art]], learning about the site's history, screenshotting interesting things he finds, and talking on the [[OWOT Discord|Discord server]].

== History ==

Rscr had known about OWOT since late 2020—not too long after he discovered Your World of Text—but was not interested in the site at first. Like many YWOT users, he used to think that OWOT was a spammier website that lacked most of YWOT's charms.

From January 2021 to June 2024 he joined the [[OWOT Discord]] a whopping 11 times, each time looking around for a bit before leaving immediately. It wasn't until June 11th, 2024 that he permanently joined the server, after another YWOT user named [[Yosicat]] had raised awareness that there were valuable pieces of YWOT history in the OWOT server. From then on he would sporadically search the Discord's message history for information about the early days of [[Related Sites|The Three Sites]].

Rscr only became active in September 2024 thanks to the efforts of two scripters: [[MothCultLeader|Catha'vi]] for their [https://yourworldoftext.wiki/OWOT-YWOT_Bridge OWOT-YWOT bridge], and [[Mr. Black]] for their variety of animated creations, which Rscr recorded and uploaded to the OWOT Discord. From then on he discovered a wide range of creative worlds, ranging from [[Meimei|Meimei's]] [https://ourworldoftext.com/computer.yes /computer.yes] to the [[Symbols for Legacy Computing|SLC]] art in [[/main]], that made him realize that OWOT was more than just a site for spamming.

Ever since then Rscr had been active on both YWOT and OWOT, studying and archiving the history of both ''World of Text'' sites.

=== On the OWOT Wiki ===

Upon receiving editing rights for the OWOT wiki on May 16th, 2025, Rscr quickly became the most active contributor and was able to double the wiki's image count in under a month. Prior to this he was the only active editor for the newly founded [https://yourworldoftext.wiki YWOT wiki]<ref>Currently down, but a partially complete archive exists at https://discord.com/channels/252154270424498176/252154574515863552.</ref>.

On July 28th of that year he became the second user to receive the <code>@Wiki contributor</code> role from [[FP]](''the first being [[Dat Hack3r]]'').

FP made Rscr an administrator of the wiki on August 3rd, 2025. His first administrative action occurred on the following day when he IP banned a vandal, which—since every user on the wiki had the same IP address—had the unfortunate side effect of disabling every other account on the site. To prevent this from happening again, he was subsequently given the right to manage editing permissions for wiki users.

Throughout August and September, a user named [[Ա]] would repeatedly beg Rscr to give them admin perms on the wiki.

== OWOT Gifs ==

Rscr records animated scripts whenever he sees them in action, and converts them into gifs using ezgif.

Most of Rscr's gifs were created for the (''now deleted'') YWOT Fandom Wiki, which had the best support for animated images. The new YWOT wiki, on the other hand, would not animate the thumbnails for gifs over a certain resolution, thus putting an end to his dream of filling every page with an overstimulating amount of moving pictures.

Rscr has been making [[Art|text art]] on [[Your World of Text|YWOT]] since late 2020, starting with ANSI art before moving on to more traditional ASCII art. He began drawing in OWOT at the start of 2025 because the site allows him to copy his creations for safekeeping, whereas a good amount of his YWOT creations had long since been griefed, with no backups existing.

Currently, Rscr is mainly copying art from manga panels and other sources(''when he is drawing at all, sometimes there can be month-long gaps between creations''). But by 2026 he plans to return to making original drawings.<gallery mode="packed" heights="300">

Rscr found Your World of Text on August 11th, 2020 from a [https://x.com/Orteil42/status/1293330316204154881 tweet] by the ''Cookie Clicker'' developer, who described the site as an "''open-world text processor.''" Coincidentally, this had happened just one day after the [https://yourworldoftext.wiki/Mainpage YWOT Mainpage] was [https://yourworldoftext.wiki/Brazilpocalypse made read-only in response to anti-Brazilian spam].

After exploring the read-only canvas for a while, Rscr stumbled upon YWOT's [https://yourworldoftext.wiki/South_Road South Road] and followed it all the way to the settlement of "[https://yourworldoftext.wiki/Deep_City Deep City]" at Y:-1000. This awakened his interest in traveling, and over the next two days he would make a longer trip to the Northern outposts of "[https://yourworldoftext.wiki/Sky_City Sky City]" and "[https://yourworldoftext.wiki/The_Nirvana Nirvana]," which he had heard vague mentions of on his journey down South. The Nirvana pilgrimage proved to be a greatly rewarding experience and was ultimately what got Rscr hooked on YWOT. In particular, he harbors fond memories of the messages left by past travelers, who seemed to form a close community despite not being present at the same time as one another; and of the many hours spent scrolling along a seemingly endless road, not knowing what lies at the end but persisting despite the massive time sink.

The next few months saw Rscr make further journeys to the Southern, [https://yourworldoftext.wiki/East_Road Eastern] and [https://yourworldoftext.wiki/West_Road Western] Roads of YWOT. At the time he was possibly the first user in the history of the site to go 10,000 coordinates down all four major paths. This was all done while the Mainpage was read-only, however, and he could not leave any messages behind. But Rscr was still able to leave his presence on YWOT's still-public [https://yourworldoftext.wiki/Subworlds subworlds], which was where he spent most of his time until January 6th, 2021, when the Mainpage abruptly reopened.

Upon learning of the Mainpage's return Rscr immediately made a second journey to Nirvana. Finally he was able to leave messages of his own among the countless travelers who came before; though he was 14 at the time and not accustomed to writing stuff on the internet, so as of 2025 Rscr cringes heavily at the mere thought of his older writings. A few days later he was invited into the YWOT Explorers community along with several prominent North Road travelers, and this was when his presence on the site truly began.

==== YWOT Explorers ====

Over the next four years Rscr contributed to a variety of projects under the YWOT Explorers. In particular, he made numerous additions to their art project [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T186L5Gn-OY Dreamer's Road], which now spans over eight thousand coordinates from the efforts of many users(''some of whom were recruited by Rscr himself'').

He continued traveling the canvas, albeit with less frequency as years went by. In 2022 he contributed to an effort by Mandrake to populate YWOT's [https://yourworldoftext.wiki/Northwest_Line Northwest] and [https://yourworldoftext.wiki/Southeast_Line Southeast] Lines, leaving messages, art, and ASCII towns along these previously barren trails. He also spent a great deal of time exploring old subworlds from the early 2010s, ranging from YWOT's many [https://yourworldoftext.wiki/North_Road_(2010_Archive) Mainpage] [https://yourworldoftext.wiki/North_Road_(2015_Archive) backups] to the forgotten reaches of [https://yourworldoftext.wiki/Msernst /msernst], which was known for its [https://cultorjustweird.libsyn.com/s2e7-the-line cult following] in the early days of the site.

During periods between travels, Rscr would frequently make and screenshot art at YWOT's [https://yourworldoftext.wiki/Spam_Central Spam Central]. He participated in a long running trend where users collaborated to draw [https://yourworldoftext.wiki/Bunnytown bunnies] and other [https://yourworldoftext.wiki/Spawn_Animals wacky creatures] at Spawn. And though most of these creations have long since been erased, they nevertheless contributed greatly to the improvement of Rscr's ASCII art.

His other notable activities have been creating a [https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZOfcnSHN_cNZdzf1_psHa_S1YqJgeNm_ series of YWOT timelapses] and talking on the YWOT (Explorers) Discord. As time went on he traveled less and less, instead turning his attention to researching the history of the site. Today he is responsible for a significant portion of the content on the new [https://yourworldoftext.wiki YWOT wiki], which [https://yourworldoftext.wiki/History_of_the_YWOT_Wiki#2024:_Creation_of_a_New_Wiki moved off of Fandom] in 2024.

By 2024, Rscr has become the oldest active member of the YWOT Explorers. He is also one of the few remaining users on YWOT as a whole, seeing as the site has been on a decline in recent years.

=== OWOP ===

Rscr was briefly present on the [[Our World of Pixels|OWOP]] Discord from late 2022 to mid 2023, a period that he primarily remembers for drama involving a notoriously toxic, underage Turkish user named Firakmisinolmsen.

Other members of the YWOT Explorers community were also present in OWOP, including HypnoticToothpaste—an artist and explorer who went on to become a moderator on the OWOP Discord—and Mandrake, another explorer who is currently working on a massive art project in Our World of Pixels.

=== Typetobuild.com(''3D YWOT'') ===

Rscr participated in the beta for a 3D YWOT clone named [[Related Sites#Typetobuild.com(3D YWOT)|typetobuild.com]]. He was one of the few people who got to experience the site, along with the creator's friends and several members of the YWOT Explorers community.

During his short time on the 3D canvas, Rscr got to experiment with 3 dimensional ASCII art.

*Rscr went by "Credrscr" from 2020 to ~mid 2022, but eventually shortened it to Rscr on the Discord servers for both YWOT and OWOT. He is still referred to as Credrscr within the YWOT Explorers community, however, and signs using the unshortened username whenever he leaves messages around YWOT. Other YWOT Explorers have historically shortened his name to "Cred" instead of "Rscr."

**"Credrscr" originated in 2017 as Rscr's username for the browser MMO [[wikipedia:Kingdom_of_Loathing|Kingdom of Loathing]]. At the time Rscr couldn't think of a good name, so he inputted random characters until something emerged that looked vaguely pronounceable.

**Another KoL username, "Nokij," was used by Rscr when he first began exploring YWOT in 2020. He had attempted to register an account under it, but used Credrscr instead because Nokij was taken.

*Rscr is one of several members of the YWOT Explorers community to have joined the OWOT Discord.

**[[Noman]], also known as Kiparisa or Nomar, had the most active presence on the site and was an adept [[Symbols for Legacy Computing|SLC]] artist. They are also present on and off within the OWOT Discord.

**Chenn was another YWOT Explorer who joined the OWOT Discord. He was known for his supremacist attitude, however, and his month-long stay within the OWOT community left him with the impression that the site was nothing more than a toxic cesspool that was inferior to YWOT in every way. He expressed this opinion numerous times within the OWOT Discord.

**LiquidVicinity, the creator of the new [https://yourworldoftext.wiki YWOT wiki], is also in the Discord server for OWOT. She briefly participated in Discord drama involving a user named Kingdom.gg, but has been inactive within the community ever since.

**DIGIBILLCIPHER, a mostly inactive member of the Explorers community, has some amount of fame in OWOT for being one of the oldest known users on the site. She is a part of the [[United Snowy Boys]] faction along with other veteran users like [[Poopman]] and [[Sammich]].

**Finally there is Yosicat, whose efforts to search the OWOT Discord for old lore enticed Rscr into joining the community. In addition to being a lurker with zero messages, Yosicat might straight up not be active at all, having been occupied with college and other IRL endeavors since 2023. Yosicat was at one point semi-active on the [[Sleepycat]] chatroom, where he befriended the ASCII artist [[Meimei]] and got her to make him member for her main world; which he has since contributed multiple drawings to.

***Along with Rscr, Yosicat has shown a great fascination with the [[Manhatingzone]] and their long history on both YWOT and OWOT. He also looks up to [[Fp]] and [[InfraRaven]] for their dedication to the World of Text community.

*On the other hand, Rscr has personally invited multiple OWOT users into the YWOT Explorers community. Most of them were given invites due to the fact that they were also veteran YWOT users at one point and had valuable knowledge about the site's history.

**These include the likes of [[FP]], [[InfraRaven]], and [[Mr.Guy]], along with a lesser known veteran named [[Instant Ramen|Instaramen]].
