An '''anonymous user''' (often shortened as "anon") is a user who is not currently signed into a Uvias account. They aren't identified by a traditional username; instead, they are assigned a random numerical [[ID]], 1-4 digits long, which changes each session.

An anonymous user's default screen name is their ID, surrounded by brackets (e.g. <code>[1000]</code>). If they have a nickname set, its value is appended to the end, and an asterisk precedes their ID (e.g. <code>[*1000] sample nickname</code>).

Anonymous users have access to many of the basic privileges found in OWOT. They can:

* Visit and/or edit public worlds,

* Visit and/or edit member-only worlds with a membership key,

* View and send messages in chat,

* Set a nickname in chat,

* and send & receive [[Cmd|command broadcasts]].

They're also explicitly '''disallowed''' from any of the following:
