Around the same time, a soyjak.party thread organized a raid on textwall and OWOT, and it is likely that this could have been influenced by the article NextOS wrote. NextOS states that at the time of writing the article, he understood slurs to be offensive to many marginalized groups, but still chose to write the article with slurs in an attempt to "fit in" with the community.
