Katherine Hessen is a character created by a spammer in late 2024. She is the protagonist of multiple spam messages sent to chat in late 2024, and of pastes on the canvas. The narrative resembles a word-swapped version of the real-life conflict between Israel and Hamas. According to the spammer, Hessen has "killed 450,000 kids in Galsi" (Galsi being Gaza). Within the lore, there have been allusions to Kelsentia (Israel) and Andirika (America). A Uvias account named KatherineHessen exists, through which political campaign-style messages have been posted. Of note is that Katherine Hessen and Kamala Harris have the same initials.

Authorship
Hessen's authorship is uncertain. Lemuria claims that it is the work of an anonymous user, while d9eoead, and PC_KOSA have accused Lemuria of being the author.

Lemuria wrote the following text on the article List of OWOT Trolls:

<blockquote>
A fictional character, created by an unnamed user from an unspecified alternate history forum (as explained by another anon who came to OWOT from the same forum). The user has created an entire universe revolving around Hessen, mostly a word-swapped version of the real-life conflict between Israel and Hamas. According to the spammer, Hessen has "killed 450,000 kids in Galsi" (Galsi being Gaza). The spammer has also alluded to Kelsentia (Israel) and Andirika (America). The user has a Uvias account named KatherineHessen, through which they post political campaign-style messages. Of note is that Katherine Hessen and Kamala Harris have the same initials. Unlike other spammers, the Hessen spammer is very rarely seen.

Lemuria has been accused of being the author on two separate occasions, first by PC_KOSA in late 2024, and then by d9eoead in June 2025. He has repeatedly denied these accusations.

Green Garden article
Green Garden, Andirika – Fourth-term presidential hopeful Katherine Hessen
made a statement at the Verdant Nuclear Energy Corporation's new Garden
Generating Station, vowing to crack down on the coal industry by introducing
new environmental regulations on coal plants across the country, if she were
to be made the fourth president of Andirika.

"As President of Andirika, I will crack down on the coal mining industry that
has killed over 5,000.", she said in a television commercial that aired last
Friday in the Greater Garden. Her fundraising campaigns have been successful
thus far, managing to raise over 8.3 million credits in the last 13 days alone.

The Garden Generating Station is a new 8.3-billion credit nuclear power plant  .
that is expected to serve Green Garden's growing population, as coal plants
across the country struggle to keep up even after rolling blackouts were
enacted in January 2024, across all of West Kirsten, a province of over 3
million. Consisting of four reactors, it is enough to feed 3.4x the current
power needs of Green Garden, and relieve the aforementioned rolling blackouts.
It will come online on August 2, according to the VNEC.

Her coal industry crackdown, part of her pledges to protect the environment,
is just one of her many promises, which have included protections for LGBTQ+
people and a bill of rights for them, the repeal of anti-abortion laws, and
better Internet privacy laws.                                                  ⠀

The current president of Andirika, Ronald Trombone, slammed Hessen's policies
as being against the working class. "Hessen wants to take away YOUR JOBS, to
help support Big Uranium, Big Thorium, and Big Plutonium. Will you let them do
that?", he said at a campaign rally just the day before, on July 27. However,
most coal mine workers are skilled and middle-class, as most mining is done
using machines and excavators. Many on social media took this as a sign of
Trombone's campaign failing to do its research, or worse yet, a deliberate
misinformation attempt.

Hessen, due to Andirika's constitutional three consecutive term limit, was
ineligible for the elections in 2016. While she endorsed her running mate,
Ashley Prater, who became vice president in 2008, Prater remained unpopular as
voters delivered a decisive victory to Trombone's campaign across multiple
districts during the 2016 elections, granting him his first term as president.

By the start of the late 2020s, Trombone became unpopular. His stance against
the LGBTQ+ community became more well-known, being at odds with the primarily
young voter-base that Hessen has been catering to during the campaign period.
Allegations that the military assisted mobs in killing 13 transgender women in
Kessler last February under his orders further tarnished his reputation, while
the Andirikan Congress chose Hessen to lead a special committee in 2023 to
investigate the murders, and later to track down the officers responsible.

Opinion polls held in Green Garden by political watchdog group Fair Vote
revealed 74% of respondents supported Hessen. Common reasons included Hessen's
beliefs, Trombone's extremism, and Hessen's role in investigating the Kessler
Massacre. "Our surveys have made it abundantly clear that Hessen is bound to
win the election this November 5.", said Fair Vote, in a reply to one of our
emails.
