In early 2026, a number of these scripts began running 24/7 near the [[Center Console]]. Some users found them harmless while others thought they were a waste of space. The presence of the clocks sparked debate over whether any form of long-running scripts (Ex. The [[Crawler]] and [[JustAnOWOTUser#Prophetbot (scrolling text)|Prophetbot's marquee]]) should be allowed at [[Spawn]].

== Square of Publicity clock controversy ==

The first clock to appear in early 2026, and the one that set off an entire trend of similar scripts at Spawn.

The '''SOP Clock''' was a scripted digital clock that ran inside the [[Center Console|Square of Publicity]] (SOP) from January 21st to January 31st, 2026. It caused large amounts of controversy for occupying more than half of the space it inhabited.

After much demand, the SOP Clock was forcibly removed by [[FP]] at the end of January. See [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvcQC6qiZms here] and [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQWQ5L_4rc4 here] for footage of users celebrating the removal of the clock.

It ~~returned~~ on February 5th, ~~this time below the Center Console~~.

It relocated to below the Center Console on February 5th and stayed there until February 26th, when it abruptly disappeared. Around February 25th, it changed its color from black to {{Main color/Dark|color=#005080}}.

== 2026 Clock Mania ==

A trend of clock scripts inspired by the SOP Clock, most of which ran for only a few hours before going offline. At least 18 unique clock scripts were created during this period; five of them were from the prolific scripter [[Mr. Black]], who returned to OWOT at around the same time that the first clock appeared. At least 8 other users had also created scripts for the Mania.

Clock Mania reached its peak at ~4:00 UTC on February 26th, 2026, when there were over 50 clocks running concurrently at [[Spawn]].
