Suggested content removal

In my opinion, the following sentences in the article are irrelevant and should be removed:

  • "This name was chosen as a tribute to a close transfem friend whose middle name is Leaf."
  • "It is a blend of her former middle name Ashton and the acronym YAGNI ("you aren't gonna need it")."
  • "fernsy worked at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, where she once lived."
  • "Sometime in October 2024, motivated by Oklahoma's anti-LGBT laws, she moved to Chicago."
  • "fernsy had been aware of her transgender status since around 2018, but was not in a position to act on it, as her parents were unsupportive and she lived in Oklahoma, a state with several anti-LGBT laws."
  • "AndreiXYZ, a close friend of fernsy, was one of the first to know."

How are they irrelevant? D9eoead (talk)

They are irrelevant because they are off-topic. The topic of the wiki is Our World of Text. 2Project (talk) 22:38, 23 January 2025 (EST)
No, they are not. Not everything here has to be about Our World of Text. It doesn't take up that much space. Lemuria (talk) 23:04, 23 January 2025 (EST)
If the information should be including here, by the same logic, other pages would be crammed with information unrelated to OWOT, which violates the wiki's purpose and wastes its space. Therefore, off-topic information on this page should not be included. Wikipedia has a policy that could serve as inspiration for the case here. --2Project (talk) 17:02, 6 February 2025 (EST)
The topic of the article is about Fernsy. Would it not make sense to include facts about her? D9eoead (talk)
The article is about OWOT, not fernsy's life. Including details unrelated to OWOT could lead to a slippery slope. How much personal information is too much? If your approach was consistently applied to all articles about OWOT users, the wiki would be crammed with information unrelated to OWOT, which plainly violates the wiki's purpose. Wikipedia has a policy that could serve as inspiration for the case here. --2Project (talk) 17:02, 6 February 2025 (EST)
