JerryStarfield's Beta Version

Following the shutdown of the original Our World of Text in August 2015, a group of developers went to work on a revival with the YWOT Source Code as the base. The revival was led by JerryStarfield and was shortly released in September 2015, right after the shutdown of the original OWOT.

The revival added text colors and featured a brand new menu design.

Poopman's Beta Version

While Jerrystarfield's version was being developed, Poopman led the creation of a new ground-up backend and frontend on beta.ourworldoftext.com which was operational either during late 2015 or early 2016 [citation needed].

This version featured a sidebar and a chat. Not only did this version have support for text colors, but it also allowed for different font sizes which could only go by powers of two relative to the default text size.

Sammich's Beta Version

Work towards a newer client was led by Sammich. The client used the CreateJS framework for rendering. This version would go on to replace JerryStarfield's client by late 2016. Not much progress was made during this time, and the final changes were made by December 2016.

The site eventually went offline to be succeeded by a new incarnation managed by FP's team in October 2017.
